Casting Seeds
Have you ever employed a tax consultant or a financial planner to help you with long-range goals? If so, you know that these people are very interested in how and where you invest.
In the spiritual realm, God is also concerned that you have a long-range "investment program." He knows your happiness in the long run will depend on the seeds you sow in faith today.
Some of the areas He would have you "invest" in (through prayer, deeds or finances) seem perfectly logical because you can foresee fairly quick results. But investing in other areas is more like "flying blind." Giving to far-off missions, spending hours interceding for people you've never met, or any other act of pure obedience takes courage.
Yet God greatly desires that we sow seeds of investment far and wide: "Happy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters (…you will find it after many days and reap an abundant harvest)…Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days" (Isaiah 32:20; Ecclesiastes 11:1, AMPC).
While you're sleeping tonight, your gifts are working in the nations of the world. Remember, when you invest in our ministry you are planting in good ground. Cast your seed upon many waters, and you will share with us in the heavenly rewards of winning souls across the nations of the world.
God loves you and wants to answer your prayer. Say this prayer with me:
Dear Father, thank you for the work You are doing throughout the world and the opportunities I have to be a part of it. Help me to be sensitive to the leading of Your Spirit to "cast my seeds" in areas unfamiliar to me. Banish fear and uncertainty from my mind, so I will not hesitate to do Your will, O Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
